GREAT BASICS
Great basics (like these jeans and this tee) are the key to having a wardrobe that you will LOVE & WEAR! Basics that you can swap around and wear for different occasions and create infinite amounts of outfits with.

ADD INTEREST
The easiest way to add some interest and personality to your typical jeans and tee combo is to add a third piece. If you’ve been around The Style Chron long enough, you will notice that this is the standard rule I apply to every outfit I wear. It is an easy method to keep in mind when getting dressed. Remember it, and you will ALWAYS look pulled together.
THIRD PIECE RULE:
To take an outfit from okay to the next level you need to include these three elements:
- TOP
- BOTTOM
- AN INTERESTING ELEMENT (Jacket, Blazer, Coat / Scarf, Jewelry / Notable Handbag, Shoes)
That third piece elevates and adds interest.
*If that third piece is a pair of shoes, handbag, or jewelry. It needs to be something NOTABLE! This means it needs to be colorful, large, chunky, etc. **If it is neutral or too simple, it is just a part of the outfit and needs a #3 element still.
KEEP IT CLEAN
It is worth stating that if it is white, it should be pristine!! Tee shirts should always be in excellent condition with no stains, signs of wear, tears, or rogue threads (unless of course, it is a distressed tee). Sneakers should always be CLEAN!! Wipe down your shoes when you remove them. Get the dirt off as soon as you can. (The exception to this rule being purposeful distressing, like Golden Goose)
